Thousand Pieces lança novo single "Hey Man. Amen" sendo o segundo trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado o single "Behind Closed Doors".
"Hey Man.
"Hey Man.
"Hey Man.

Thousand Pieces releases new single "Hey Man. Amen," their second release this year. Previously, they released the single "Behind Closed Doors."
Thousand Pieces is the solo project of Jamie Smith, a singer-songwriter from North London, who writes visceral and melodic indie rock about real life and the people who shape it. Self-taught since picking up his first guitar at 21, Jamie spent ten years playing original music with his band Toydrum, performing shows in and around London, including iconic venues like Hope & Anchor and Dublin Castle.
His latest single, "Hey Man. Amen.", was inspired by a friend struggling with alcoholism. Despite repeated attempts at rehabilitation and constant support from friends and family, nothing seemed to make a lasting difference. The song captures the helplessness of watching someone you love suffer, with the repeated cry of "Hey Man... Amen, Amen" becoming a desperate plea to God when nothing else seems to work. "Hey Man. Amen" brings traditional British indie rock, blended with a touch of Britpop, that sound that slowly wins you over, but once you're captivated, you start singing along. That's exactly what happens here, in a song that's gentle, with a real-life narrative that resonates with many people; we can become part of it. Sometimes we want to save someone we love from something deadly, sometimes slowly, but we're powerless, we can't.
"Hey Man. Amen" captures that pain, that suffering, in the best style reminiscent of Oasis's glory days, something from Noel Gallagher's solo career, with that real social narrative that Sam Fender addresses. Simply put, it's the song to have on headphones, on a cloudy and rainy afternoon, while we reflect on life. It's a cinematic track that begins with this central point of being able to help a friend and extends to our own lives, with a strong arrangement that connects strongly to this environment.
"Hey Man. Amen" brings the necessary melancholy for the occasion, it brings the appeal, the despair, the sadness, feelings that make us feel alive again, and a chorus so we can sing along. The song comes alive within indie rock with a nostalgic aspect, as if we were going back in time in a bittersweet way, and suddenly it becomes bitter in the memory. Thousand Pieces manages to tell stories in a striking, profound way, not only in words, but with a whole sound ecosystem that leads the listener to embark on the narrative. It's certainly one of the great names emerging in indie rock and leaves us excited about what comes next.
