A canção "Changes" começou em Londres, depois que Dante Shivers conheceu uma bailarina por meio de um amigo em comum. Acompanhando-a até em casa numa noite, os dois conversaram sobre a vida, viagens, seus sonhos e como pode ser difícil perseguir a vida que imaginamos para nós mesmos. Inspirado por aquela noite, Shivers começou a escrever "Changes" em Londres e terminou a composição depois de retornar a Nova York, apenas para engavetar a música por quase quinze anos. Agora viajando pelo mundo em uma jornada para se redescobrir, Shivers finalmente concluiu a gravação na Tailândia. Uma canção originalmente escrita por um jovem que se perguntava se algum dia conseguiria realizar o sonho de viver a vida que almejava foi finalmente finalizada enquanto ele fazia exatamente isso.
"Changes" tem uma sonoridade fascinante em seu início, com acordes que são completamente envolventes, um arranjo aconchegante. O vocal entra, com um timbre sereno, como se estivéssemos perto do cantor e ele conversando com a gente. Dante Shivers releases his new single "Changes," one of several releases this year, including "Poison (Hotbox'd)" and "End of All Summers."
The song "Changes" began in London after Dante Shivers met a dancer through a mutual friend. Walking her home one night, the two talked about life, travel, their dreams, and how difficult it can be to pursue the life we imagine for ourselves. Inspired by that night, Shivers began writing "Changes" in London and finished the composition after returning to New York, only to shelve the song for almost fifteen years. Now traveling the world on a journey of self-discovery, Shivers finally completed the recording in Thailand. A song originally written by a young man wondering if he would ever achieve his dream of living the life he so longed for was finally finished while he was doing just that.
"Changes" has a captivating sound at the beginning, with completely catchy chords and a cozy arrangement. The voice enters with a serene timbre, as if we were close to the singer and he were speaking to us. Gradually, he builds the track, creating a solid and impactful structure with his powerful and booming voice, giving life to this story that happened some time ago, but which feels like a story from a past night, not years ago.
