The Timbre Project lança novo álbum "Bass River Sessions" sendo o sexto álbum lançado pela banda. Nesse novo trabalho são 10 faixas e só de ouvir a primeira faixa a gente já fica animado para saber como serão as demais. Antes, havia sido lançado o álbum "Like Passengers" em 2023.
O Timbre Project é um trio dinâmico de Cambridge, Estados Unidos, formado pelos músicos experientes Jaime d'Almeida, David Zimmerman e Jason DeWaard. Tendo tocado juntos por anos, a química entre eles é inegável: Dave comanda a bateria enquanto Jason e Jaime dividem as guitarras, com Jason também no baixo e Jaime adicionando teclados e percussão ao seu som ricamente texturizado. Como co-produtores, Jason e Jaime criaram uma identidade sonora que bebe profundamente da fonte de luminárias do rock alternativo dos anos 90
O novo trabalho "Bass River Sessions" é um álbum original gravado em diversas sessões na Bass River Street, em Massachusetts, local que deu nome a esta envolvente coleção. O principal compositor e letrista, Jaime d'Almeida, explora temas como lidar com a complexidade, manter relacionamentos e preservar o senso de identidade em meio à incerteza, abordando limites, resistência, confiança e frustração com sistemas falhos. O processo de gravação priorizou a captura de um som orgânico, ao vivo e cru, resultando em performances precisas e composições diversas, como evidenciado em faixas de destaque como "Aim Here (Roots and Wings)", "Echo (Party Pack Shortage)" e "Way It Is". Este lançamento representa uma declaração significativa de uma banda que não tem medo de abordar temas complexos, entregando um rock irresistivelmente cativante.
Para começar, tem a primeira faixa "I Just Got Your Cable" uma sonoridade muito bem construída, som de guitarra bem presente, o baixo dita o tom e é impressionante, criando uma atmosfera lenta, crescente e hipnotizante. O vocal entra, com muita personalidade e atitude, leva a gente fazendo os ouvintes flutuarem. Com transições de guitarra que são eletrizantes, o refrão gruda e faz a gente cantar juntos. Essa faixa faz a gente imaginar estar na praia em uma noite de verão, é aquele rock leve, jovem, que faz a gente voltar na nostálgia, simplesmente deixamos a música fluir com traços desconcertantes e deixamos nosso corpo balançar como ondas, o álbum começa com tudo, em um estilo bem autêntico.
"Pull The Release" é a segunda canção, com uma introdução eletrizante, batidas suaves e dançantes, pra soltar a tensão dos ombros. O vocal traz a vibe dos anos 90, é uma canção que podemos sentir as batidas de forma intimista, talvez por ser um álbum real e cru, sentimos estar perto da banda, como se fosse ao vivo, o que cativa bastante. O ponto de virada traz uma transição de guitarra que incendeia, e soltamos a voz juntos, trazendo uma atmosfera vibrante.
"Aim Here (Roots and Wings)" é a terceira faixa, com uma tapeçaria que traz um rock clássico, crescente, sentimos as batidas ditando o ritmo, e de forma impressionante, ocorre transições que nos deixa surpresos, não sabemos como ela vai se desenvolver. De repente a faixa muda seu ritmo e direção, indo para um refrão corrido onde a guitarra faz riffs que são hipnotizantes, cotagiam facilmente. A música tem aquele estilo de anos 70, flutuante e depois seu ritmo muda para algo mais agitado, isso é fenomenal nessa faixa, que tem o seu toque cru, com uma narrativa forte. O vocal leva a canção conforme ele quer, com um estilo despojado, com backing vocal que o acompanha na parte final.
"Sun to Shade" tem o som do baixo que nos envolve, com linhas de guitarra mais suaves que levam a faixa junto com batidas que mexem nosso corpo. É algo que faz lembrar Red Hot Chili Peppers. Aquele som que a gente só quer relaxar, ouvir para trazer um ambiente mais rock em uma nuance talvez lounge, isso suaviza a atmosfera, com linhas de guitarra que são suaves e "cantam" na música, é um som soft, limpo, que traz uma energia gostosa.
"Cutaway" é a sexta faixa, com um som que é marcado por riffs de guitarra em uma estrutura já estabelecida, baixo que leva a faixa até o refrão e batidas que são agitadas, é aquela faixa para sair com o carro no verão e cortar o litoral, sentir a brisa no rosto, ouvindo essa faixa que faz a gente sentir a vibe dos anos 70, a liberdade, é uma canção que traz sensações nostálgicas. A sétima faixa "So What?" mantém essa estabilidade sonora no álbum, em um som que tem um estilo mais contido, que ainda sim nos desconcerta e arrebata em um solo de guitarra que é marcante na faixa.
"Echo (Party Pack Shortage)" tem uma sonoridade leve, ouvir no fone de ouvido traz sentimentos incríveis, é estável em sua primeira parte, nos leva aos anos 90 onde crescemos ouvindo rock da época. O vocal mantém seu tom, leva a faixa suavemente. As batidas aqui ditam o ritmo e podemos sentir perfeitamente no fone de ouvido, a gente se desconecta de tudo ao redor. O instrumental aqui é muito bem trabalhado. Ocorre uma transição instrumental após cantar "I hear The Echo", a música tem uma tapeçaria indie rock, super autêntica, explodindo em momentos que a guitarra traz solo que faz a gente pular juntos.
"The Way It Is" é a décima faixa e finaliza o álbum em alto nível, com um som cru que traz os anos 90 em sua forma mais forte e poderosa, um rock que incendeia, em um show o público com certeza estaria pulando junto.
O álbum "Bass River Sessions" está com uma sonoridade madura, muito bem construída, sólida, trazendo faixas de impacto como a primeira faixa "I Just Got Your Cable", "Aim Here (Roots and Wings)". Com certeza é um grande trabalho que conquista fãs de rock do mundo inteiro e se entregam em cada faixa.

The Timbre Project releases their new album "Bass River Sessions," their sixth album. This new work features 10 tracks, and just listening to the first track makes you excited to hear what the rest will be like. Previously, they released the album "Like Passengers" in 2023.
The Timbre Project is a dynamic trio from Cambridge, USA, formed by experienced musicians Jaime d'Almeida, David Zimmerman, and Jason DeWaard. Having played together for years, the chemistry between them is undeniable: Dave handles the drums while Jason and Jaime share guitar duties, with Jason also on bass and Jaime adding keyboards and percussion to their richly textured sound. As co-producers, Jason and Jaime created a sonic identity that draws deeply from the luminaries of 90s alternative rock.
The new work, "Bass River Sessions," is an original album recorded in various sessions on Bass River Street in Massachusetts, the location that gave its name to this captivating collection. The main composer and lyricist, Jaime d'Almeida, explores themes such as dealing with complexity, maintaining relationships, and preserving a sense of identity amidst uncertainty, addressing limits, resilience, trust, and frustration with flawed systems. To begin, there's the first track, "I Just Got Your Cable," with a very well-constructed sound, a prominent guitar sound, the bass dictating the tone and being impressive, creating a slow, growing, and mesmerizing atmosphere. The vocals enter with a lot of personality and attitude, making the listeners float. With electrifying guitar transitions, the chorus sticks and makes you sing along. This track makes you imagine being on the beach on a summer night; it's that light, youthful rock that takes you back to nostalgia. You simply let the music flow with its disconcerting strokes and let your body sway like waves. The album starts strong, in a very authentic style.
"Pull The Release" is the second song, with an electrifying introduction, smooth and danceable beats, to release the tension in your shoulders. The vocals bring the vibe of the 90s; it's a song where you can feel the beats intimately. Perhaps because it's a real and raw album, we feel close to the band, as if it were live, which is quite captivating. The turning point brings a guitar transition that ignites, and we sing along, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
"Aim Here (Roots and Wings)" is the third track, a tapestry of classic, crescendoing rock. We feel the beats dictating the rhythm, and impressively, the transitions surprise us, leaving us unsure of how it will develop. Suddenly, the track changes its rhythm and direction, moving into a fast-paced chorus where the guitar plays mesmerizing, catchy riffs. The music has that 70s style, floating, and then its rhythm shifts to something more upbeat, which is phenomenal in this track, which has a raw touch and a strong narrative. The vocals carry the song as he wants, with a stripped-down style, with backing vocals accompanying him in the final part.
"Sun to Shade" has an enveloping bass sound, with smoother guitar lines that carry the track along with beats that move our bodies. It's something reminiscent of Red Hot Chili Peppers. That sound that makes you just want to relax, listen to it to create a more rock-oriented atmosphere with a perhaps lounge-like nuance, softening the mood with smooth guitar lines that "sing" within the music. It's a soft, clean sound that brings a pleasant energy.
"Cutaway" is the sixth track, with a sound marked by guitar riffs in an established structure, bass that leads the track to the chorus, and upbeat beats. It's the kind of track to enjoy in the summer, driving along the coast, feeling the breeze on your face. Listening to this track makes you feel the vibe of the 70s, the freedom; it's a song that evokes nostalgic sensations. The seventh track, "So What?", maintains this sonic stability throughout the album, with a more restrained style that still manages to unsettle and captivate us with a memorable guitar solo.
"Echo (Party Pack Shortage)" has a light sound; listening to it on headphones evokes incredible feelings. It's stable in its first part, taking us back to the 90s, where we grew up listening to rock music. The vocals maintain their tone, carrying the track smoothly. The beats dictate the rhythm, and we can perfectly feel them on headphones; we disconnect from everything around us. The instrumental work is very well done. An instrumental transition occurs after Singing "I Hear The Echo," the song has a super authentic indie rock tapestry, exploding in moments where the guitar delivers a solo that makes you jump along.
"The Way It Is" is the tenth track and finishes the album on a high note, with a raw sound that brings the 90s in its strongest and most powerful form, a rock that ignites; at a show, the audience would certainly be jumping along.
The album "Bass River Sessions" has a mature, very well-constructed, solid sound, bringing impactful tracks like the first track "I Just Got Your Cable," and "Aim Here (Roots and Wings)." It's certainly a great work that wins over rock fans worldwide, who get completely hooked on every track.
