Sometimes Julie lança novo EP "Transition". Antes, havia sido lançado o álbum "Songs For A Day". O novo EP contém ao todo 6 faixas que vamos falar sobre elas a seguir.
Sometimes Julie, uma das bandas indie mais envolventes e originais de San Diego, é a criação musical da dupla de cantores e compositores Monica Sorenson e Rick Walker. A dupla surgiu em 2014 com seu premiado álbum de estreia, "Head First". As músicas do novo EP "Transition" são mais intimistas e reflexivas, com algumas de suas letras mais pessoais e reveladoras até o momento, "Transition" demonstra conexão com o ouvinte através da exploração de conceitos universais como amor, perda e a luta pela autenticidade.
Para iniciar, tem a primeira faixa "Carry Her", uma canção que nos envolve fortemente, com uma introdução intensa, a faixa é levada pela voz poderosa da cantora, com batidas crescentes e som de piano que transforma esse pop em um ambiente elegante. Rapidamente, fechamos os olhos e os embalos de um pop atemporal toma conta, com backing vocal ao fundo, um hino clássico de pop que aquece os corações e nos enche de vida.
"Transition" faixa homônimo do EP, a canção nos leva em uma jornada onde sentimos um ambiente que, talvez não seja coincidência, é marcado por transições sonoras, que pode simbolizar ao ouvinte transições em sua vida. A sonoridade leve e relaxante cativa a gente, a vocalista traz poder e em alguns trechos um timbre mais delicado, somos contagiados em um arranjo que tem sintetizador ao fundo expansivo, isso traz e enfatiza a ideia de transição.
"Before" é a terceira faixa, com um refrão que cresce após a primeira parte mais contida, a canção tem piano e os acordes de violão, transições que são surpreendentes e um arranjo belo ao fundo que lembra violino. É uma faixa que podemos fechar os olhos, conectar com o nosso interior e então deixamos um peso ir embora.
"I Dreamed of You" é a quarta canção, um refrão explode após um começo marcado pelo piano, a vocalista traz uma leveza em seu início que gradualmente vai crescendo e intensifica no refrão onde incendeia os ouvintes e então cantamos juntos sendo catártico.
"Shooting Star" é a quinta canção, com toques de piano, passamos pela penúltima faixa e imaginamos que Sometimes Julie já entregou tudo, porém nessa canção é onde nos rendemos, uma introdução muito bem feita, os ouvintes relaxam e desconectam de tudo ao redor. Deixamos a música crescer, e cantamos juntos o refrão.
"Finally The Rain" é a última canção, finalizando o EP em alto nível. A faixa traz toda a essência do EP, com o piano sendo o destaque da melodia, é uma experiência sensorial imersiva que o EP oferece com a vocalista entregando performances de arrepiar.

Sometimes Julie releases new EP "Transition". Previously, they released the album "Songs For A Day". The new EP contains a total of 6 tracks, which we will discuss below.
Sometimes Julie, one of San Diego's most engaging and original indie bands, is a musical creation of the singer-songwriter duo Monica Sorenson and Rick Walker. The duo emerged in 2014 with their award-winning debut album, "Head First". The songs on the new EP "Transition" are more intimate and reflective, with some of their most personal and revealed lyrics to date. "Transition" demonstrates a connection with the listener through the exploration of universal concepts such as love, loss, and the struggle against difficulties.
To begin, there's the first track, "Carry Her," a song that strongly engages us. With an intense introduction, the track is driven by the singer's powerful voice, with rising beats and piano sounds that transform this pop into an elegant atmosphere. Quickly, we close our eyes and the rhythms of timeless pop take over, with backing vocals in the background, a classic pop anthem that warms hearts and fills us with life.
"Transition," the title track of the EP, takes us on a journey where we feel an atmosphere that, perhaps not coincidentally, is marked by sonic transitions, which, when listening, can symbolize transitions in your life. The light and relaxing sound captivates us; the vocalist brings power and, in some parts, a more delicate timbre. We are captivated by an arrangement with an expansive synthesizer in the background, which brings and emphasizes an idea of transition.
"Before" is the third track, with a chorus that grows after the first, more restrained part. The song features piano and guitar chords, surprising transitions, and a beautiful arrangement in the background reminiscent of a violin. It's a track that allows us to close our eyes, connect with our inner selves, and then let go of a weight.
"I Dreamed of You" is the fourth song, a chorus that explodes after a piano-driven beginning. The vocalist brings a lightness to the start that gradually grows and intensifies in the chorus, igniting the listeners, and then we sing along in a cathartic way.
"Shooting Star" is the fifth song, with touches of piano. We talk about the penultimate track and imagine that Julie has already given everything, but in this song, we surrender. A very well-done introduction allows listeners to relax and disconnect from everything around them. We let the music build, and we sing along to the chorus.
"Finally The Rain" is the last song, finishing the EP on a high note. The track captures the essence of the EP, with the piano being the highlight of the melody. It's an immersive sensory experience that the EP offers, with a vocalist delivering breathtaking performances.
