Emma Miller releases new single 'Sick and Tired', the first work released this year. Previously, the singles 'In The Smoke' had been released last year and 'Meet Me On The Lake' in 2022.
Emma Miller was hailed as 'One to Watch' by BBC Scotland's Roddy Hart. Their sold-out show in Edinburgh last December highlighted their growing status as a groundbreaking indie band in Scotland. She is also the creator of the UK’s largest NFT music collection, ‘Artifacts’. 'Sick & Tired' is the first single from their upcoming EP. Emma says: “Writing ‘Sick & Tired’ was a kind of ‘fuck you’ to my own inner demons and the social pressures we can subject ourselves to. I still identify with it on a deep level, but it's nice to be in a different, sycophantic place.”
'Sick and Tired' has an alt folk beginning, something very intimate and simple that wins us over with a constant and intense sound and Emma's beautiful voice, which is deep and striking. The song grows little by little and then softer beats come in that shake up the track and give the music a body, making it sway in our hearts.
For the second part, guitar riffs and violins enter that transform this into an elegant rock that has the nuance and tapestry of folk. In the chorus, Emma releases her voice in a more falsetto style, elevating the atmosphere of the song and taking us away.
