The Exact Opposite lança novo vídeoclipe para o single "You Work For Us Now" do álbum que será lançado "Skill Issue".
"You Work For Us Now" estava entre o primeiro lote de músicas que a dupla escreveu quando chegou juntos novamente em 2021, depois que a vida (e no caso de Nigel uma turnê interminável) finalmente lhes deu tempo. “Estávamos tocando coisas um para o outro em uma sala como sempre costumávamos fazer no Dive Dive, se perguntando se deveríamos trazer mais pessoas para a banda e o que iríamos para soar. Então apareceu "You Work For Us Now", e depois que programei o baixo, a excitação da guitarra espetada estilo televisão pós-punk de Jamie e um fundo dançante insistente imediatamente nos inspirou e definiu o que seria The Exact Opposite” lembra Nigel.

The Exact Opposite releases new music video for the single "You Work For Us Now" from the upcoming album "Skill Issue".
"You Work For Us Now" was among the first batch of songs the pair wrote when they arrived back together in 2021, after life (and in Nigel's case endless touring) finally gave them time. “We were playing stuff to each other in a room like we always used to do at Dive Dive, wondering if we should bring more people into the band and what we were going to sound like. Then “You Work For Us Now” came along, and once I programmed the bass, the excitement of Jamie’s spiky post-punk TV-style guitar and insistent dance backing immediately inspired us and defined what The Exact Opposite would be,” recalls Nigel.
Recorded as part of the upcoming debut album Skill Issue at Jonny Greenwood's (Radiohead/The Smile) studio, You Work For Us Now addresses some of the album's central themes of not giving up, especially in artistic endeavors. Watch the video clip below:
"You Work For Us Now" surprises us with this melody made in a constant way with riffs that go from the beginning of the track to the chorus, creating a captivating sound environment within indie punk rock, with a reminder of the 80s. soft in the first part and then arrives at a striking and contagious chorus.
"You Work For Us Now" is being compared to something by Greenday, sometimes being called Greenday 2.0. The punk vocal makes our veins vibrate and the chorus full of energy is electrifying, making us sing along. A song that shows the essence of following your dreams and moving forward. The instrumental solo is addictive, stirring us up, leading to the last part of the track with a very rock and roll atmosphere.
