Book NOT brooke lança novo EP 'The Day I Was Supposed to Be Born' com 5 faixas sendo o primeiro trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado os singles 'Buggy Song' no ano passado e 'Prettyiest Penny' em 2022.
Book NOT brooke eleva o nível neste projeto atraente, desde composições envolventes e vocais corais exuberantes até batidas dançantes e entrega sempre totalmente autêntica. O EP foi escrito pela própria Book, que adota uma abordagem DIY meticulosa, tendo produzido, arranjado e mixado 4 das 5 músicas solo. “Popsicle” foi co-produzido e co-mixado com Jakob Bibb, colega de banda do Baby Wave, que gravou a guitarra e os vocais de Book em “Our Dream” e contribuiu para “Prettiest Penny” com guitarra e mixagem adicional de bateria. Zion Mark do Goshen Studio masterizado em todas as 5 faixas. Book criou a arte da capa colando fotos de câmeras de vídeo capturadas por Sam Toth para o videoclipe de “Barely Even Found”.
O novo EP tem uma sonoridade incrível, fazendo a gente ir para outros ambientes, outras dimensões, com melodia pop vintage e um vocal marcante de Book, nos faz lembrar de Lana Del Rey, em um pop clássico que se torna atemporal.
A canção que iremos falar é a quinta faixa 'Barely Even Found' que tem uma introdução bem cativante, um arranjo melancólico, sério, um vocal sólido que entra, com um clima crescente e com efeitos especiais. A faixa tem um estilo transcendental, com um sintetizador futurista que entre depois do primeiro refrão. Book NOT brooke releases new EP 'The Day I Was Supposed to Be Born' with 5 tracks being the first work released this year. Previously, the singles 'Buggy Song' had been released last year and 'Prettyiest Penny' in 2022.
Book NOT brooke raises the bar on this compelling project, from immersive songwriting and lush choral vocals to danceable beats and always completely authentic delivery. The EP was written by Book herself, who takes a meticulous DIY approach, having produced, arranged and mixed 4 of the 5 songs solo. “Popsicle” was co-produced and co-mixed with Baby Wave bandmate Jakob Bibb, who recorded Book’s guitar and vocals on “Our Dream” and contributed guitar and additional drum mixing to “Prettiest Penny.” . Zion Mark from Goshen Studio mastered all 5 tracks. Book created the cover art by pasting together video camera photos captured by Sam Toth for the “Barely Even Found” music video.
The new EP has an incredible sound, taking us to other environments, other dimensions, with a vintage pop melody and a striking vocal from Book, reminding us of Lana Del Rey, in a classic pop that becomes timeless.
The song we will talk about is the fifth track 'Barely Even Found' which has a very captivating introduction, a melancholic, serious arrangement, a solid vocal that comes in, with a growing atmosphere and special effects. The track has a transcendental style, with a futuristic synthesizer that enters after the first chorus. With lyrics that seem to be a conversation, with a very deep tone and scattered voices that make the track a little psychedelic, which is brilliant in dream pop with a darker side and the use of synthesizer that creates a very distorted sound tapestry and futuristic chaos.
It's clear that Book NOT Brooke has been honing her craft and digging deeper since her soulful debut EP, Egoic Illusion. With the flow of a full album and the quality of a studio production, The Day I Was Supposed to Be Born is an immersive journey well worth the 18 minutes and 34 seconds.
