Charm releases new single "The Anti-Blues," the second track from her first EP of the same name.
Interestingly, the album is called "Anti-Blues" because, unlike a typical blues song, which consists of a "he hurt me, she hurt me" type of song, this song is about having a wonderful relationship with someone. In fact, the entire EP, all four songs, are about having a truly great relationship. An interesting fact is that, although Charm grew up surrounded by incredible musicians at an impressive age, until January 2026 she had no formal musical training, but by June 2026 she had already written 27 songs. Furthermore, she started singing in public in January and now also has a band.
"The Anti-Blues" has a sound that takes us on an immersive journey into the blues. A timeless cinematic nuance with shades of gray paints a picture that transports the listener to an elegant evening in the 50s and 60s. With a touch of saxophone and beats that slowly and discreetly move our bodies, we return to a very well-produced nostalgia.
The singer enters with her speaking-style timbre, in a tone that is interrupted and doesn't compete with the instrumental; her solid and captivating voice guides us through a night that invites us to dance, following the rhythm that grows with each verse. What impresses in this work is a technique that sounds perfectly as if we were at a gala ball.
"The Anti-Blues" is a track that marks a blues work that aims not to repeat the traditional blues formula, but brings an independent lyrical innovation, showing a successful relationship. Imagine, on a day with so much happening, terrible news, you arrive home on a Friday night, wanting to cook something special, and you put on this music with good company, open a bottle of wine, and feel this atmosphere that fills the room, bringing newness, sophistication, and a great vibe.
