RIOT SON lança novo EP 'My Love Is A Promise That I Can't Keep' com 3 faixas trazendo o indie rock que eletriza os ouvintes e faz a gente flutuar em ondas sonoras hipnotizantes.
O EP "My Love Is A Promise That I Can't Keep" representa tanto uma conclusão sonora quanto um renascimento pessoal para RIOT SON. Escrito durante um período de intensa perda pessoal e inspirado por momentos de reflexão em Price Lake, ao longo da Blue Ridge Parkway, o EP transforma o isolamento e a dor em uma experiência de cura para os ouvintes.
Para começar, tem a primeira faixa 'Loneliest At Best' que inicia com riffs distantes que nos agita, traz aquele som onde a gente cresceu ouvindo com influências dos anos 2000, quando éramos adolescentes, jovens, essa nostálgia é fascinante, fluindo em nosso corpo, as batidas são agitadas, um rock leve, vocal que nos leva com uma energia suave, a gente sente a música correr e isso é extremamente empolgante. Os riffs de guitarra são contagiantes, com transições que são surpreendentes. Com uma letra marcante, pessoal, a gente realmente pode estar melhor sozinho em nossa própria companhia.
'What Makes You Think' é a segunda canção e continua na mesma linha ritmíca em comparação com a primeira faixa, é agitada e nos dá aquela vontade de pular durante a faixa, faz jorrar adrenalina em nossas veias, com um refrão que gruda em nossa cabeça, tem influências que nos leva aos anos 90 e a gente revive tudo em nossa mente. O vocal tem um tom leve e descontraído fazendo a gente cantar juntos.
O projeto de três faixas termina com "Slowly Without You", uma música que nasceu de uma viagem noturna pelas montanhas Apalaches e foi gravada usando uma técnica única de "pirâmide" com dois microfones: um Shere O Dyne 533SA vintage de 1974 e um microfone condensador AKG C214. Essa configuração meticulosa cria uma camada fantasma de som, percorrendo os extremos do campo estéreo antes de se encontrarem em um poderoso pico emocional, seguido por uma linha de baixo delicada e um final sussurrado e intimista. A canção apresenta uma construção sonora sólida, gradual, indo para uma vibe etérea, uma sobreposição de vozes que faz a gente entrar em uma atmosfera hipnotizante, é a canção mais diferente do EP, com uma letra profunda, de perda, de despedida, é o momento onde ocorre algo transcendental, a gente flutua para longe, é como se fosse um sonho.

RIOT SON releases new EP 'My Love Is A Promise That I Can't Keep' with 3 tracks bringing indie rock that electrifies listeners and makes us float on mesmerizing sonic waves.
The EP "My Love Is A Promise That I Can't Keep" represents both a sonic conclusion and a personal rebirth for RIOT SON. Written during a period of intense personal loss and inspired by moments of reflection in Price Lake, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the EP transforms isolation and pain into a healing experience for listeners.
To begin, there's the first track 'Loneliest At Best' which starts with distant riffs that stir us, bringing that sound we grew up listening to with influences from the 2000s, when we were teenagers, young adults, this nostalgia is fascinating, flowing through our bodies, the beats are energetic, a light rock, vocals that carry us with a smooth energy, we feel the music flowing and that is extremely exciting. The guitar riffs are infectious, with surprising transitions. With striking, personal lyrics, we can truly be better off alone in our own company.
'What Makes You Think' is the second song and continues in the same rhythmic vein as the first track; it's upbeat and makes you want to jump around, pumping adrenaline through your veins, with a catchy chorus that sticks in your head. It has influences that take us back to the 90s, and we relive everything in our minds. The vocals have a light and relaxed tone, making you want to sing along.
The three-track project ends with "Slowly Without You," a song born from a night drive through the Appalachian Mountains and recorded using a unique "pyramid" technique with two microphones: a vintage 1974 Shere O Dyne 533SA and an AKG C214 condenser microphone. This meticulous setup creates a phantom layer of sound, traversing the extremes of the stereo field before meeting at a powerful emotional peak, followed by a delicate bassline and a whispered, intimate ending. The song features a solid, gradual sonic construction, moving towards an ethereal vibe, an overlay of voices that draws you into a mesmerizing atmosphere. It's the most different song on the EP, with profound lyrics about loss and farewell; it's a moment where something transcendental happens, we float away, it's like a dream.
