Matt Johnson releases new single “Mother’s Day Proverb,” his second release this year. Previously, he released the single “For Good.”
In homage to mothers worldwide, “Mother’s Day Proverb” is a single from Matt Johnson’s album “Reflections on…The Proverbs of Solomon.” Reflecting on the ancient wisdom of Proverbs 31, this 12-minute track, in the format of a “musical audiobook,” features Matt’s reflective narration and delicate piano improvisations.
“Mother’s Day Proverb” is the kind of track that disconnects us from everything around us, shutting out the world’s turbulence and connecting us to something profound and uplifting. If every man could read Proverbs 31, women would be valued more than a jewel. Wives would be happy, mothers would be recognized, and daughters would have a great example to project into the future. In this work by Matt Johnson, we have the opportunity to pause everything and for 12 minutes feel something serene, gentle.
