Qual é o som do deserto? Para seu EP autoral Powerlines (25 de março), Jana Pochop o capturou literalmente — rastejando pelos pisos do estúdio Abiquiu de Georgia O’Keeffe para gravar suas reverberações únicas.

Formada pela Berklee NYC e com alma de poeta, Jana funde a narrativa de Mary Chapin Carpenter com a produção inovadora de Imogen Heap. Com colaborações de Don Dixon (R.E.M.) e Sean Hutchinson (Bleachers), Powerlines é uma tapeçaria rica e envolvente de indie-folk-pop que mapeia a distância entre a energia urbana do Brooklyn e o vasto céu do Novo México. Perfeito para fãs de letras introspectivas e produção ousada.

A primeira faixa é a cativante I Miss Driving é uma música excelente para abrir o disco, ela nos traz emoção, nos chama a atenção nos convida para viver uma experiÊncia, já deixando claro que aqui tem emoção, magia, pop folk de qualidade com arranjos úncios, autênticos e recheados de muito talento, com vocais que possuem presença e que conseguem entregar vida as palavras expressadas, essa canção é profunda quando você a escuta com atenção, ela foge da mesmice da superficilidade do pop, nós amamos cada detalhe e queremos ouvir o restante do álbum a partir desse momento que essa canção nos ofereceu.

Pretty Please é deliciosa,doce e poderosa ao mesmo tempo, delicada e forte, uma música de batidas que nos permitem viajar no espaço, somos retirados de nossa rotina caótica para ver cenas de um sonho que passa em nossa mente, faixa que tem muitaqualidade em seu refrão, expressivo e cantar junto da artista é muito bom, pois nos sentimos expressados, e a destaque para a combinação de elementos sonoros, é uma sinfonia essa canção, tem sons que despertam nossa imaginação e nos deixam completamente inspirados, amamos muito cada detalhe, é bem elaborada e esbanja talento.

Down Low é a terceira canção, ela nos coloca em profundo contato com nossas emoções, é um pouco mais lenta e nos faz desacelerar, nos desconecta de nossa rotina e nos conecta as emoções, encaramos nossos sentimentos mais profundos, é um folk elegante e de muita carga emocional, nos sentimos flutuando, com emoções que evitamos, vendo elas e vencendo elas, foi incrível e inspiradora para nós essa faixa.

Chasm é brilhando, a quarta faixa do disco é inovadora, folk com um misto saboroso de eletrônica, folktronica muito bem feito, mostrando um lado diferente das outras canções, essa faixa tem um vocal de texturas, uma composição brilhante, é do tipo que encanta o ouvinte e que faz o corpo quase adormecer em uma vibe boa, é uma músical linda, mágica, uma verdadeira obra de arte de tranquilidade e brilho, amamos.

What is the sound of the desert? For her self-produced EP Powerlines (March 25), Jana Pochop captured it literally—crawling across the floors of Georgia O’Keeffe’s Abiquiu studio to record its unique reverberations.

A Berklee NYC graduate with the soul of a poet, Jana blends the storytelling of Mary Chapin Carpenter with the innovative production of Imogen Heap. Featuring collaborations with Don Dixon (R.E.M.) and Sean Hutchinson (Bleachers), Powerlines is a rich and engaging tapestry of indie-folk-pop that maps the distance between the urban energy of Brooklyn and the vast New Mexico sky. Perfect for fans of introspective lyrics and bold production.

The first track, the captivating "I Miss Driving," is an excellent song to open the album. It evokes emotion, grabs our attention, and invites us to live an experience, making it clear from the start that there's emotion, magic, and quality folk-pop with unique, authentic arrangements brimming with talent. The vocals have presence and bring life to the words expressed. This song is profound when you listen to it attentively; it escapes the superficiality of pop. We loved every detail and want to hear the rest of the album from the moment this song offered us.

"Pretty Please" is delightful, sweet, and powerful at the same time, delicate and strong. It's a song with beats that allow us to travel through space, we're taken from our chaotic routine to see scenes from a dream that plays in our minds. The track has a high-quality chorus, expressive, and singing along with the artist is wonderful because it makes us feel expressed. The highlight is the combination of sound elements; this song is a symphony, with sounds that awaken our imagination and leave us completely inspired. We loved every detail; it's well-crafted and overflows with talent.

"Down Low" is the third song. It puts us in deep contact with our emotions. It's a little slower and makes us slow down, disconnecting us from our routine and connecting us to our emotions. We face our deepest feelings. It's an elegant folk song with a lot of emotional weight. We feel like we're floating, seeing and overcoming emotions we avoid. This track was incredible and inspiring for us.

"Chasm" is shining, the fourth track on the album is innovative, folk with a delicious mix of electronica, a very well-done folktronica, showing a different side from the other songs. This track has textured vocals, a brilliant composition, it's the kind that enchants the listener and almost makes the body fall asleep in a good vibe. It's a beautiful, magical song, a true work of art of tranquility and brilliance, we loved it.

Without further spoilers, you need to get to know this album, a phenomenal work with an emotional impact that overflows with songwriting talent and brings great harmony between lyrics, melody, vocals and intensity, all brilliantly orchestrated to provide an experience for the listener.
