Ratfink! lança novo álbum "WHEN U WERE MINE" sendo o quinto trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado o EP "Marigolds" e "Plastic Bits".

Ratfink! é formado por Liv e Raph, amigos de escola que gravam músicas pop DIY em sua casa compartilhada em Melbourne. Eles dividem os vocais em todas as faixas e cantam sobre amigos, relacionamentos, assumir a homossexualidade e o estado do mundo natural. Suas músicas variam do rock and roll ao R&B, passando pelo dream pop suave.

O novo trabalho foi gravado com um microfone de cinquenta dólares, uma guitarra de cem dólares e um laptop que sempre parece estar debaixo d'água porque ele conseguiu derramar cerveja nele uma vez. Ele acha que isso deu um toque especial às faixas. Antecedido pelos singles "About Ya", "Gay Song" e "Plastic Bits", "WHEN U WERE MINE" é a essência da música DIY: um pouco despojada, um pouco rock and roll e, graças à sua parceira Liv, que aparecia nas horas mais estranhas, um pouco doce.

"Gay Song" traz a essência do duo, a volta ao mundo natural, a canção tem a suavidade do som acústico, com violão e ainda somos conectados em um vocal que é marcante, criando uma força em seu timbre que leva a faixa com uma energia própria, uma vibe mais leve, tudo que podemos imaginar é estar em um lugar lindo e perfeito em nossa mente e deixar a música nos levar para longe.

"Here Be Heroes" é a oitava faixa, com um toque que mexe nosso corpo, mais agitado, elétrico, traz um empoderamento em sua letra, rapidamente sentimos a canção fluir em nossas veias, com um estilo indie rock, criando uma atmosfera que é eletrizante, queremos cantar juntos, é vibrante, com um arranjo completamente viciante.

Para finalizar, tem a última faixa "When U Were Mine" que traz a essência do álbum, com uma introdução que é vibrante e linha de guitarra mais etérea que nos conquista. Ratfink! releases new album "WHEN U WERE MINE," their fifth release this year. Previously, they released the EPs "Marigolds" and "Plastic Bits."

Ratfink! is formed by Liv and Raph, school friends who record DIY pop music in their shared home in Melbourne. They share vocals on all tracks and sing about friends, relationships, coming out as gay, and the state of the natural world. Their music ranges from rock and roll to R&B, passing through smooth dream pop.

The new work was recorded with a fifty-dollar microphone, a hundred-dollar guitar, and a laptop that always seems to be underwater because he managed to spill beer on it once. He thinks this gave the tracks a special touch. Preceded by the singles "About Ya," "Gay Song," and "Plastic Bits," "WHEN U WERE MINE" is the essence of DIY music: a little stripped down, a little rock and roll, and, thanks to his partner Liv, who appeared at the strangest times, a little sweet.

To start, there's the first track, "Won't Wait Forever," which has beats that connect us in a pleasant harmony. We quickly feel the track flowing through our bodies, with light guitar riffs, bringing a rock sound that makes us close our eyes and then start clapping our hands to the rhythm of the music. "Gay Song" brings the essence of the duo, a return to the natural world. The song has the smoothness of an acoustic sound, with guitar, and we are still connected by a striking vocal, creating a strength in its timbre that carries the track with its own energy, a lighter vibe. All we can imagine is being in a beautiful and perfect place in our minds and letting the music take us away.

"Here Be Heroes" is the eighth track, with a touch that moves our bodies, more agitated, electric, it brings empowerment in its lyrics. We quickly feel the song flowing through our veins, with an indie rock style, creating an electrifying atmosphere. We want to sing along; it's vibrant, with a completely addictive arrangement.

It's something that reminds us of New Radicals, in their way of singing without worrying about aesthetics, but just feeling, taking the track as they want. Finally, there's the last track, "When U Were Mine," which captures the essence of the album, with a vibrant introduction and an ethereal guitar line that captivates us. The track evokes nostalgia for a past relationship, recalling a time when someone was truly ours—a track that warms our hearts.

The new album has a completely addictive atmosphere, with a contagious vibe that connects us in a natural state, with a pleasant and addictive sound—an indie rock with folk influences—something that shields our minds, numbing us and taking us far away.
