CAR287 releases new single "Opening Song," the sixth track from their recently released album "Looking Through The Lens." Previously, they had released singles that would later become part of this album.
The Winnipeg rock band CAR287 presents a powerful introduction with "Opening Song," the title track from their debut album, "Looking Through the Lens." Blending the energy of classic Canadian rock with a modern edge, the song captures the anticipation and courage that accompany taking the stage. Driven by acoustic rhythms, melodic bass, and intense keyboards, it's an anthem about beginnings and resilience. This electrifying journey of CAR287 began in 2014 when Jay Yarmey (vocals and guitar), Travis Wog (vocals and lead guitar), and Terry Ferguson (bass) joined former drummer John Kyriakopoulos in a basement in downtown Winnipeg to form an eclectic cover band. In the following years, they honed their skills playing everything from backyard barbecues to bar parties and galas... channeling the spirit of 70s rock and 2000s indie darlings.
"Opening Song" has an acoustic beginning, with a touch of guitar that strongly envelops us in the track. The solid vocals bring a folk aspect to the track, which has versatility imprinted in the rhythmic alternations of the guitar in this beginning. Suddenly, strong beats kick in, shaking up the track and making it vibrate, with guitar lines that bring riffs that electrify and ignite the listeners. Quickly, the track grows and moves from a folk atmosphere to a more rock sound.
