Com um tema bem pertinente, universal, estamos em uma escalada sem precedentes sobre o fim da liberdade, espionagem, limites de expressão, a informação tem sido manipulada, talvez seja uma realidade alternativa que estamos vivendo. Esse momento sombrio é muito bem representado pelo arranjo da faixa que traz linhas distorcidas, com um piano jazz completamente marcante em suas transições. A canção combina riffs de guitarra que trazem junto com o jazz criando um art rock completamente desconcertante.
"When Freedom Dies" tem uma letra poderosa com a linha "Você deveria ouvir sua intuição, porque você sabe o que é bom para você..." o que representa a liberdade que deveríamos lutar em tempos como esse. A liberdade é o bem mais precioso da humanidade, o que não tem preço. Mas o mundo caminha para uma aclamação coletiva por mais controle para que se tenha mais segurança, é como escolher morar em um condomínio fechado para ter mais segurança ao invés de ter um pedaço de terra em um espaço livre e que você possa sentir a brisa bater em seu rosto e os ventos da liberdade enquanto ouve "When Freedom Dies" tomando um vinho no cair da tarde para noite.

Audren releases new single "When Freedom Dies," her third release this year. Previously, she released the singles "The Good Road" and "A New Page."
Audren has released several albums and singles and sold her music to films, TV, and video games. Many years ago, a video game character was inspired by her. She was Audren the Gypsy in the game Darkstone (1 million items sold), and her song 'The Darkstone Will Shine' caused a worldwide sensation and boosted her musical career. With her new indie pop/rock single, "When Freedom Dies," the bestselling songwriter and novelist Audren reveals more of the underlying rebellion we hear in her previous poetic tracks. Her soft and hypnotic protest song serves as a warning not to follow the herd. "Lyme disease challenged me for years," she shares. "I had to learn to trust my instincts to survive. We frequently receive false information about many health topics (and many other subjects as well). To avoid paranoia, many people choose to follow the crowd, allowing the oligarchy to rule their lives. I needed to write a song about misinformation for people who use this kind of absurd marketing, because when you're sick, you realize you need to demonstrate insight and shrewdness if you don't want to end up as a guinea pig."
"When Freedom Dies" begins with a mesmerizing sound, with a synthesizer bringing an intense sound that grows and an arrangement in the background that maintains an ethereal line, with an atmosphere that disarms listeners, and then we surrender when Audren's captivating, versatile vocals enter, carrying the track with a lot of personality and alternating between a more solid timbre and falsettos. What's truly captivating is this mysterious atmosphere, as if we were in a conspiracy series in its arrangement, and suddenly the track builds and puts us in a faster rhythm with the drums and falsetto.
"When Freedom Dies" is full of surprising transitions, somewhat psychedelic, that make our minds spin. With a very pertinent, universal theme, we are in an unprecedented escalation about the end of freedom, espionage, limits of expression, information has been manipulated, perhaps it's an alternate reality we are living in. This dark moment is very well represented by the arrangement of the track, which features distorted lines, with a completely striking jazz piano in its transitions. The song combines guitar riffs that come together with jazz, creating a completely disconcerting art rock.
"When Freedom Dies" has powerful lyrics with the line "You should listen to your intuition, because you know what's good for you..." which represents the freedom we should fight for in times like these. Freedom is humanity's most precious asset, priceless. But the world is moving towards a collective demand for more control in order to have more security; it's like choosing to live in a gated community for more security instead of having a piece of land in an open space where you can feel the breeze on your face and the winds of freedom while listening to "When Freedom Dies" and sipping wine at dusk.
