Após o sucesso aclamado pela crítica de seu último álbum, Something Worth Remembering, Pratt não planejava retornar ao estúdio tão cedo, até que um telefonema fatídico de Ernst e Kasper no final de 2023 mudou tudo.

"Eu não tinha ideia de quais músicas gravaria. Eu estava uma pilha de nervos. Não queria perder a oportunidade de trabalhar com Adam novamente", diz Pratt. "Acabamos passando 2024 no estúdio. Adam vinha de Nashville uma semana por mês, Doug se dedicou ao máximo e, juntos, criamos algo realmente especial."

O primeiro gostinho desse trabalho é "Red Barn" — uma música country animada, sedutora e irresistivelmente divertida, escrita pelo compositor de sucesso Jason Patrick Matthews (com "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right", de Billy Currington, e "Country Man", de Luke Bryan). Com letras vibrantes que misturam romance juvenil com o charme da vida no campo, a música tocou profundamente Pratt.

"Me lembrou o celeiro vermelho da fazenda do meu bisavô", explica ele. "As memórias, a narrativa, até mesmo a menção à Silverado — tudo me tocou profundamente. Além disso, minha parceira de dueto, Kate Szallar, e seu marido têm um celeiro vermelho e uma Silverado. Simplesmente pareceu perfeito." disse Gary Pratt.

Gary Pratt releases new single "Red Barn" as his first new work of the year. He previously released the album "Something Worth Remembering" in 2021. Award-winning country artist Gary Pratt is ushering in a new era in his musical journey with the release of his infectious new single.

The energetic new track marks the first single from his highly anticipated project, a collaboration led by producer Adam Ernst and engineer Douglas Kasper of Tonic Studios.

Following the critically acclaimed success of his last album, Something Worth Remembering, Pratt had no plans to return to the studio any time soon, until a fateful phone call from Ernst and Kasper in late 2023 changed everything.

"I had no idea what songs I was going to record. I was a nervous wreck. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to work with Adam again," says Pratt. “We ended up spending 2024 in the studio. Adam would come down from Nashville for a week a month, Doug would put in the work, and together we created something really special.”

The first taste of that work is “Red Barn”—a bouncy, flirty, irresistibly fun country song written by hit songwriter Jason Patrick Matthews (who wrote Billy Currington’s “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” and Luke Bryan’s “Country Man”). With vibrant lyrics that blend young romance with the charm of country life, the song resonated deeply with Pratt.

“It reminded me of the red barn on my great-grandfather’s farm,” he explains. “The memories, the storytelling, even the mention of the Silverado—it all resonated with me. Plus, my duet partner, Kate Szallar, and her husband have a red barn and a Silverado. It just felt right,” says Gary Pratt.

"Red Barn" begins with characteristic country riffs, creating a mystical atmosphere within the segment, bringing beats that move us and the vocals carry us with a lot of expressiveness, attitude and captivate the listeners. We quickly feel the track flow through our body, we feel that rodeo atmosphere, with lots of good food and this track that sets the listeners on fire.

For those who have lived in the countryside, have grandparents who tell stories about the countryside, you will know what I am talking about. "Red Barn" transports us to this rural environment, we smell the fresh air, we feel our minds leaving the chaotic big city and we go to that farm atmosphere, animals, this track playing in the background. We feel freedom flowing through our veins, it is that track to get in the car and drive around, loud music, hit the road and enjoy a country town.
