EMILY RICKS lança o novo single "Farewell To My Youth" sendo o primeiro trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado os singles "Buttom of The Sea" e "First Friend" no ano passado.
Emily Ricks abre o coração para uma geração que está se tornando adulta agora, saindo da casa dos pais e que talvez com tanta pouca idade já tenha passado por grandes acontecimentos na vida como Emily já passou. A artista aos 12 anos perdeu seu pai, já esteve no elenco de Toy Story 3 premiado em um Oscar e aos 18 anos de idade fez cirurgia em uma aorta para lhe garantir a vida, tudo isso com agora 23 anos de idade. Então Emily resolveu abrir o coração com uma letra que se comunica com todos nós, marcando um adeus para a infância e juventude onde queríamos ser adultos e hoje vem a sensação que a vida adulta é pesada demais diante de tanta dor de cabeça, insônia e perdas de pessoas que amamos.
"Farewell To My Youth" é um hino teen que traz o indie pop e o rock, com uma certa nostalgia que nos lembra os anos 2000 e 2010, Emily aqui traz uma sonoridade que comeã suave com sua voz que relaxa e depois agita a gente por dentro com batidas fortes e riffs de guitarra e seu vocal crescente.
"Farewell To My Youth" trata de paradoxos e contradições da vida, quando éramos crianças desejavámos descobrir quem era o Papai Noel, a Fada do dente, tínhamos vontade em dormir e ganhar dinheiro ao acordar quando um dente caia, mas depois que descríamos a verdade de tudo parecia ser legal descobrir, mas hoje muitos pagam remédios para dormir por causa ansiedade e todo esse tempo da inocência nos faz falta, gostariamos talvez de estar sendo enganados ainda pelos nossos pais nessas questões. Não para por aí, cada um segundo seus sonhos, quando somos pequenos temos as pessoas que amamos ao redor e por perto e vamos crescendo e naturalmente alguns acabam morrendo e então aquele sonho de criança vira um pesadelo. Com essa temática pessoal e que muitos se identificam, esse hino teen chega com muita força.
"Farewell To My Youth" é aquela faixa que nos faz lembrar e ter saudade de ser criança e brincar com amigos sem pensar na maldade do mundo. Com uma qualidade sonora que traz sons de teclado e guitarra, batidas ao estilo rock, Emily solta a voz e nos encanta com sua potencia e timbre, uma maravilhosa voz que tem muita força. Emily Ricks opens her heart to a generation that is now becoming adults, leaving their parents' home and who, perhaps at such a young age, have already experienced major life events like Emily has. The artist lost her father at the age of 12, was already in the Oscar-winning cast of Toy Story 3 and at the age of 18 had surgery on an aorta to guarantee her life, all this at the age of 23.
