Clamber lança novo EP "Places I Caught Myself Thinking" sendo o primeiro trabalho do tipo na carreira do artista. Antes, havia sido lançado o single "Coldharbour Lane" e o bombástico single de estreia "Italy".
Clamber fez um show de lançamento do EP na sexta-feira, 9 de fevereiro, para um público com ingressos esgotados no Colors Hoxton, em Londres. Eles também foram apresentados como Spotlight Artist na BBC Introducing Essex and Cambridgeshire no dia 8 de fevereiro, com três faixas do EP sendo incluídas no programa.
‘Places I Caught Myself Thinking’ resume a inquietação, o desconforto e a alegria de navegar na casa dos 20 anos, levando os ouvintes a uma viagem pelos arredores e locais em que o compositor Kieran Daly viveu esses momentos cruciais. O EP combina o lirismo investigativo com o estilo autodenominado “poltrona pop” de Clamber. Isso fornece pontos para suas primeiras influências folk e amor pelo indie pop, casando a vulnerabilidade lírica com guitarras nítidas.
A primeira canção "Italy" já é a porta de entrada, a faixa inicial com tudo com um indie pop rock que é contagiante pela sua leveza e suavidade, além de ter intensidade e melodia constante, indo para um refrão onde vai crescendo e a gente canta juntos, em uma melodia que rapidamente gruda em nossa mente.
A segunda canção "Tooting Tango" é inédita, chegando com riffs na introdução bem suaves, somos levados com batidas constantes e rápidas formando uma tapeçaria agitada ao fundo, indo para transições rápidas onde o vocal de Kieran faz a canção ir conforme ele quer, em uam frieza vocal que traz um ambiente agradável aos ouvintes. A sonoridade dessa canção nos leva em um indie pop rock gostoso de ouvir com uma letra muito boa.
"Coldharbour Lane" é a terceira canção, a última lançada, começa com riffs introspectivos algo do indie rock com o também introspectivo vocal de Kieran que é cativante, cantando em um tom mais baixo. O começo tem uma certa nostalgia dos anos 80 e 90, parece que a faixa segura para acumular energia e depois explodir. As batidas entram, começam agitar e depois realmente tem uma sonoridade onde Kieran faz a canção crescer com riffs que entram e então ele eleva o tom da faixa em uma transição imprevisível.
"Watch Out! (Because They'll Come To Trip You Up Again") chega mais despojada, em um indie rock moderno que é sensacional. Kieran solta a voz e então acelera nossos corações, em uma canção que certeza que em um show a galera canta junto. Vibrante, o pré refrão já nos aquece para rolar algo mais rock and roll no refrão. É genial.
Sem muito spoiler, a ultima faixa vale a pena ouvir a versão alternativa de "Tooting Tango". O novo EP é um marco para a carreira de Clamber, que prova ser uma sensação do momento e um dos grandes nomes que pode despontar no cenário indie pop rock em breve, tocando nos grandes festivais, Clamber se consolida com esse trabalho contagiante e eletrizante.

Clamber releases new EP "Places I Caught Myself Thinking" being the first work of its kind in the artist's career. Previously, the single "Coldharbour Lane" and the bombastic debut single "Italy" had been released.
Clamber played an EP launch show on Friday 9 February to a sold-out crowd at Colors Hoxton in London. They were also featured as Spotlight Artist on BBC Introducing Essex and Cambridgeshire on 8 February, with three tracks from the EP being included in the programme.
‘Places I Caught Myself Thinking’ encapsulates the restlessness, discomfort and joy of navigating your 20s, taking listeners on a journey through the surroundings and places in which composer Kieran Daly experienced these pivotal moments. The EP combines investigative lyricism with Clamber’s self-described “armchair pop” style. This provides points for their early folk influences and love of indie pop, marrying lyrical vulnerability with crisp guitars.
The first song "Italy" is already the gateway, the initial track with everything with an indie pop rock that is contagious for its lightness and benefits, in addition to having intensity and constant melody, going to a chorus where it grows and we sing together, in a melody that quickly sticks in our minds.
The second song "Tooting Tango" is new, arriving with very soft riffs in the introduction, we are carried away with constant and fast beats forming an agitated tapestry in the background, going to quick transitions where Kieran's vocal makes the song go as he wants, in a vocal coolness that brings a pleasant atmosphere to listeners. The sound of this song takes us into an indie pop rock that is pleasant to listen to with very good lyrics.
"Coldharbour Lane" is the third song, the last released, it starts with introspective riffs something like indie rock with Kieran's introspective vocals which are captivating, singing in a lower tone. The beginning has a certain nostalgia for the 80s and 90s, it seems like the track is safe to accumulate energy and then explode. The beats start, they start to shake and then they really have a sound where Kieran makes the song grow with riffs that enter and then he raises the tone of the track in an unpredictable transition.
"Watch Out! (Because They'll Come To Trip You Up Again ") arrives more stripped down, in a modern indie rock that is sensational. Kieran lets loose his voice and then accelerates our hearts, in a song that he's sure the crowd will sing along to at a show. Vibrant, the pre-chorus already warms us up to something more rock and roll in the chorus. It's brilliant.
Without too many spoilers, the last track is worth listening to as the alternative version of "Tooting Tango". The new EP is a milestone for Clamber's career, which proves to be a sensation of the moment and one of the big names that could emerge on the indie pop rock scene soon, playing at major festivals, Clamber consolidates himself with this infectious and electrifying work.
