'Shamandrongur' é o novo single do artista multidisciplinar das Ilhas Faroé Silvurdrongur, de seu novo álbum conceitual ‘nú æt eg eftir ánni’, que será lançado no dia 17 de julho pela Tutl Records.
O novo single traz um estilo experimental voltado para dance e eletrônica, terreno no avant garden com uma batida constante que explode em dois crescendos separados, com muitas letras em diferentes estilos de canto e rap.
O álbum é executado inteiramente em uma das menores línguas do mundo, o feroês. Seu título significa “Agora recebi o nome do rio” e reflete uma linha poética e simbólica do álbum, já que todos os títulos das músicas se referem a diferentes nomes de criaturas que residem às margens do rio e aos sons totalmente estranhos da música. Promete ser uma viagem estranha e inspiradora por paisagens sonoras alienígenas com combinações inesperadas de géneros e temas. Como um conto de fadas sombrio que viaja ao longo da margem do rio da floresta das Ilhas Faroé, o conceito também vem com seu próprio universo visual de tirar o fôlego, combinando a fotografia do artista feita por Gwenael A. Helmsdal em uma sala de aula de vida selvagem fossilizada, com ilustrações do falecido grande ornitólogo das Ilhas Faroé e o artista Mikkjalá Ryggi, desenhado por Heidi Andreassen.
'Shamandrongur' tem um início com sons de batidas que batem conforme nosso coração e um vocal suave, como se fosse começar uma rave. Então a música fica em um estilo constante, com batidas chegando e backing vocal que faz nossa mente alucinar.
A música vai crescendo e percebemos que se trata de algo único e diferente, uma experiência que leva ao nosso estado natural. De repente, a música cresce com batidas que fazem nosso corpo balançar. 'Shamandrongur' is the new single from Faroese multidisciplinary artist Silvurdrongur, from his new concept album 'nú æt eg eftir ánni', which will be released on July 17th via Tutl Records.
The new single brings an experimental style focused on dance and electronics, ground in the avant garden with a constant beat that explodes into two separate crescendos, with many lyrics in different styles of singing and rapping.
The album is performed entirely in one of the world's smallest languages, Faroese. Its title means “Now I was named after the river” and reflects a poetic and symbolic line of the album, as all the song titles refer to different names of creatures that reside on the banks of the river and the totally strange sounds of the song. It promises to be a strange and inspiring journey through alien soundscapes with unexpected combinations of genres and themes. Like a dark fairy tale that travels along the forest riverbank of the Faroe Islands, the concept also comes with its own breathtaking visual universe, combining the artist's photography by Gwenael A. Helmsdal in a classroom of fossilized wildlife, with illustrations by the late great Faroese ornithologist and artist Mikkjalá Ryggi, designed by Heidi Andreassen.
'Shamandrongur' begins with beat sounds that beat according to our heart and a soft vocal, as if a rave was about to start. So the song stays in a constant style, with beats coming and backing vocals that make our mind go crazy.
The music grows and we realize that it is something unique and different, an experience that takes us to our natural state. Suddenly, the music swells with beats that make our bodies sway. The backing vocals as if it were music from a native island, as if it were part of the history of an ancestral people with electronic modernity. It's like a rave based on ancient tales, which makes the experience broad and very transcendental, as it is a timeless work.
